Fogo de Chao Announces Investment into Cedar Park

Scheels is in the news again!

But this time the buzz is about what is being built in the shopping center near Scheels: Fogo de Chao.

Fogo de Chao is a Brazilian Steakhouse offering an all you care to enjoy experience at a flat rate per diner. The menu boasts of grilled meats such as picanha, filet mignon, wagyu ancho, and that is just a sampling of the steak! Fogo also offers grilled chicken and sea food as well as a seasonal market table... and dessert 😋

I had the opportunity to eat at Estancia which is also a Brazilian Steakhouse (and will be a competitor of Fogo de Chao in Leander) over the summer. The food was delicious and the service top notch. Some may ask why do we need two Brazilian Steakhouses within a couple miles of each other? Competing businesses close together excited me for a couple reasons!

First, Fogo de Chao is estimating this restaurant build out and development will be an investment of $4.5 million. That investment into Cedar Park shows Fogo is ready to put down roots in Cedar Park and stay a part of the local economy for a long time. The fact that Fogo is wanting to build close to Scheels, the City View development, and the HEB center also shows that the foot traffic and customers that those businesses attract are ideal prospective diners of Fogo de Chao. Finally, having two options of Brazilian Steakhouses also shows there are enough diners to fill both restaurants. Think about how many burger restaurants we have in Cedar Park alone! Competition means there are enough customers to go around and provides variety for diners.

While construction is estimated to begin in early 2027, a defined completion date has not yet been announced. Once Fogo is up and running, I look forward to being one of the first customers!
